Anthony Hejduk
I am a 6th year PhD candidate in Philosophy at Columbia University, specializing in ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, with broader interests in ethics, philosophy of language, and philosophy of artificial intelligence.
My primary research is on Stoicism and the philosophy of the Hellenistic era. In particular, I look at the way that the Stoics’ theory of “sayables,” incorporeal entities that underly language and thought, interacted with their ethics, theology and political theory. More details about my research can be found here. I am also a researcher for the ValuesLab, an interdisciplinary lab working with philosophers and computer scientists on the philosophy of artificial intelligence.
Before coming to Columbia, I graduated from Yale in 2020 with B.A.s in Philosophy and Classical Civilization.
